Muthoki declared all the seats vacant. Ndungu                 1987 A-level\nTrustee: Patricia Kerrets-Kemei          1993\nTrustee: Peter Moindi                              1990\n\nELECTIONS GUIDELINES \nThe following guidelines applied for the elections: \n\nVerified Voter List. \n\nOnly registered members will be eligible to vote. \nAn attendance register of members verified to be registered and subscribed for the year 2026 shall be the list of members eligible to vote. \n\nSame-Day Registration. \n\nNew members who register on the same day as they attend AGM shall be allowed to vote. \n\nMode of Election. \n\nSecret Ballot will be the preferred mode of electing a leader once one is proposed and seconded. \nVoting will be done by members physically present. No proxy votes will be allowed. \n\nNomination of candidates. \n\nCandidates may be proposed at the venue\, whether present or absent. Each must have a proposer and a seconder. \nAll nominees must be registered members. \n\nCounting of votes. \n\nOnly members present and eligible will be counted in voting. \n6. Returning officer \nThe Principal Moi High & Senior School Kabarak or an appointed representative. \n  \nCHAIRMAN’S REPORT AT THE AGM: \nDATE: 18TH APRIL\,  2026. \nORGANISATION INFORMATION: \n*Registration*: \nThe Moi High School Kabarak Alumni Association was registered on 19th July\, 2001. \n *Physical / Postal Address* \nAdministration Block \, \nMoi High School- Kabarak . \nP.O. Box 7049\, Nakuru. \n  \nWe sincerely thank the school for graciously hosting our meetings and events. \n *KEY OBJECTIVES* :                                                                \n\nTo promote the general welfare of its members.\nTo participate in the development of Moi High School Kabarak in all spheres.\nTo promote education generally by setting up bursary or scholarship schemes or other schemes of a similar nature.\nTo solicit \, raise and disburse money for purposes consistent with its objectives.\nTo establish and maintain charitable projects \, trusts and foundations.\n\n  \n*THE  CURRENT COMMITTEE* : \n\nDr Peter Moindi- Chairman\nVelichka Omukuba- Secretary\nArch. Ivan Kelunyo.\nKibet Cheruiyot – Assistant Secretary.\nAbigael Kiptoo- Assistant Treasurer.\nJohn Limo- Liason Officer\n\n7.Dr  Harriet Owino Scott- Editorial lead. \n  \nTHE REPORT:                                                                           \nIn the year 2025 we were able to undertake various activities in furtherance of the Association objectives. \nWe thank God for the success of most planned activities. \n\n SCHEDULED MEETINGS: \nA) Executive Committee: \n\nThe committee held two  meetings in the year 2025; one  physical meeting  and at least 3 virtual meetings and a few consultative meetings. \n\nB) Chapter meetings. \n\nWe had three chapter meetings at elections were done and the chapters launched. \n\nEldoret Chapter– 1th September 2025.\nNairobi Chapter-6th September 2025.\nNakuru Chapter– 20th September \,2025.\nd) Governing Council Meeting- 11th October\, 2025. This was followed by an online meeting to wrap on the issues not cleared at the meeting.\n\n  \n\n SCHOOL EVENTS: \na) Career Days: \n\nThe Alumni provided some key speakers in the events on  request by the school. We thank the school for providing 10 tents dedicated to  Alumni  from which we offered guidance to students in the various careers and to give general guidance. \nThis demonstrates the increasing role of the Association in this activity. Special thanks to the many of us who were  available for the career days. We can do more on this front to offer guidance and mentorship in collaboration with the school. \n\nb) Thanksgiving & Prizegiving Day. \n\nThe Alumni Association was  represented by the Treasurer Ivan Kelunyo\, Secretary- Velichka Omukuba \, the Editorial Lead Harriet Owino and our Liason officer Mr John Limo . We gave awards sponsored from our kitty to the tune of ksh 104\,000. The school appreciates the role we play/ have played in this regard. \n\nc) Alumni Sunday Service- 25th May 2025. \n\nThis was an inaugural organized Sunday service that brought together year cohorts from 1979 to date. It was combined with career guidance and counselling in the afternoon done according to houses. It was a great success. \n\n MEMBERSHIP \n\nMembership remains voluntary. We endeavor to attract more members by making our objectives and activities to meet the expectations of potential members. The chapters  meetings were the new recruitment and member sensitization hurb in 2025. We have a number of slightly over 400  who have  paid their registration. We are happy to report that more members have come on board after every event – chapter meetings\, career days and Alumni Sunday service. Member recruitment remains a top agenda in the coming year. We look forward to having over 500 registered members by the next AGM. \n  \n4.YEAR COHORTS- WELFARE ACTIVITIES & RESOURCE MOBILIZATION.                                               \nWelfare activities are domiciled in year cohorts and this is one area where one feels they belong. We encourage members to be connected at both year cohorts and the parent society. Strong year cohorts result in a strong society. \nThe strength of year cohorts was evident in among other activities the  Endowment Fund  mobilization where we cleared an outstanding bill of ksh 467\,500. \nThe school appreciated the gesture. I must thank Class cohort for doing a commendable job in both joint activities and their individual class welfare activities. \n  \n\n CHAPTERS & NETWORKING: \n\nAfter the chapter elections and launches in 2025\, the next phase of activities will be to allow chapters to run own programs.  The parent society’s role will be to ensure they have the necessary support to open own bank accounts and run own activities. Chapters will be the hub of networking for business and opportunities across year cohorts. \nResource mobilization activities will be guided by the constitution\, the Executive committee and the Trustees whom we hope to have them elected in this AGM.  Through the resolution of this AGM we hope to have in place a fund sharing formula between chapters and the parent society in respect to funds raised through annual subscriptions\, donations\, partnerships and sponsorships. \n  \n6.THE CONSTITUTION                                                   \nOur constitution embodies the objectives and rules that govern the organization. It is the guide of the association. This document has come under review in a  special general meeting in 2024  and the 2025 AGM. \nThe document\, however\, still has gaps. It needs to made responsive to the structures of the organization to make it easier for chapters \, year cohorts \, Excom and the Trustees to execute their functions. It is an agenda item in today’s AGM. The AGM is the supreme decision making organ of the society. The Governing Council\, which is a product of a consultative process from Executive committee\, year cohorts and a special General Meeting held in 2024 needs to be enshrined in the constitution to give it legitimacy in processing decisions before the AGM. It’s representation is drawn from year cohorts\, chapters\, Trustees and the Executive committee. \nOther gaps resulted during alignment to the specimen given at the Registrar’s office. The amendments recommended in this AGM are those that make the document truly representative of the aspirations of the society membership. \nMembership should be made to capture the voluntary nature of the association and exclude excessive clauses that tend to discourage joining members. Membership clauses should be those that are enforceable and logical to the nature of our organization. \n  \n\n MARKETING & BRANDING:\n\nThe association as at now has a wide reach through many channels- our WhatsApp pages\, face book \, instagram\, our website and the many activities of the society. However\, the organisation has alot to do to attract members across year cohorts which has a potential membership of over 10\,000 members based on Alumni who have graduated through the school. \nThe year 2026 annual budget is reflective of intent to have networking  and collaboration activities working with chapters. \nNetworking across year cohorts comes with great benefits. \nWe envisage a paradigm shift from the current position where most year cohorts are in their comfort zones as welfare groups. \nWe hope to fully operationalize and launch our website and energize the business & networking forum. \nWe hope to also strengthen networking in caucuses such as Medics forum\, agricaucus and other professional/ business caucuses. We envisage a socio-economic powerhouse courtesy of the association. \n  \n\n CONSORTIUM OF SECONDARY SCHOOLS ALUMNI ASSOCIATIONS OF KENYA ( COSAAK). MHSKAA is a registered and compliant member of COSAAK. SUMMARY:2025 Annual General Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Annual General Meeting 2025\nAdjourned due to quorum. Executive meeting held with members present\n																										 \nChairman’s Remarks \nThe Chairman welcomed members and thanked them for attendance. He apologized to members for starting the meeting late. This was occasioned by members coming late and had to be awaited in the hope of achieving quorum. \n  \nHaving declared the AGM adjourned and having confirmed that the Executive Committee members met their quorum for a meeting the chairman invited all members attending the called AGM\, now called off\, to remain in the EXCOM meeting as in attendance. \nHe welcomed all members present both physically and online to participate in the agenda. \nThe items listed in the agenda were administrative. Those that were AGM agenda were left for the next called AGM. \n  \nAnnual Calendar Briefing. \nThe proposed Calendar was read by Velichka Omukuba. \nThe program was divided into quarters . \nThe program incorporated proposals from the Chief Principal especially on  Career day and an Alumni Sunday. It was proposed that  the alumni could be allocated more time to focus on the Form 4s by selecting a Sunday that they could spend time with students for talks and one on one consultation. The Sunday after career day  would be an ideal day as an  Alumni Sunday with the students for both the Sunday Service and talks in the afternoon. \nVelichka Proposed and John Limo seconded. \nThe rest of the program is as below: \n  \nJanuary to March               \n1 Mar     Alumni AGM – ADJOURNED \n15 March- School Prize giving Day – Alumni Trophies presentation. \n  \nApril to June                       \nMay- Eldoret Reunion \n  \nJuly to Sep \nAug-Nakuru Reunion \n25 Jul-Career Day – Alumni professionals in numbers \n26 Jul- Alumni Sunday – Two Sunday services and \nF4 talks and consultation\, Mentorship and career guidance in the afternoon. \n  \nOctober to Dec    \nOct-Nairobi Reunion \nNov-Governing Council Annual Meeting. \n  \n  \nChapter Elections \nThe constitution provides for chapters. It was unanimously agreed that there are three (3) declared chapters and that the chapters have never held elections other than choosing adoc committees for activities such Endowment Fund ( Fund raising organizing committees) and reunions ( coordinating committees) whose lives ended with the activities.  It was further agreed that chapters (Nairobi\, Nakuru and Eldoret) to hold elections to give them basic structures to manage chapter affairs. \nThe Executive Committee was to come up with a calendar of chapter elections and issue notices appropriately. \nThe constitution envisages that chapters shall adopt the parent society constitution but could have own objectives as long as none contravenes the parent society constitution. \nIt was agreed that once chapter officials were elected\, they could come up with objectives. \nThe Executive committee are mandated to give returns to Registrar of societies annually on the existing chapters. \nIt was further agreed that the constitution can be amended in the future to allow for chapter by laws for smooth running of chapters. \nLaunch of Official Alumni Merchandise\n																															 \nGallery
